Here we are outside our house ready to go to Paris!!! I could only post a few of our pictures from the trip on the blog. I hope you enjoy them! We had an awesome trip and would love to go again...someday!!!

We made it we are in Paris...YAY!!!!

Just around the corner from our hotel is the Moulin Rouge. Once a baudy cabaret theatre, today they still do the can-can but it is not as naughty!!

Caitlynn and I in the lobby of the Moulin Rouge, I think we need to brush up on our can can!! ha ha ha

We found The Great Canadian Pub in Paris!!! ha ha ha So of course we had to stop in and have some lunch!

Here we are in Pigalle once the sleazy red light district of Paris. There are lots of sex shops and shows still lining the streets today!!

While waiting to go up the tower of Notre-Dame it was raining. We got to see the gargoyles spitting water out of their mouths.

Just some of the magnificent gargoyles atop Notre-Dame.

While walking up the almost 400 stairs to the North Tower of Notre-Dame, we spotted a pigeon with babies in one of the windows. You can see the spikes they use to keep pigeons off. It didn't stop this Mommy. How tender she is caring for her babies!!

John and I in front of Notre-Dame.

The rear view of Notre-Dame with it's flying Buttresses, 50 ft.stone beams that stick out from the Church were the key to complex Gothic architecture.

The Inverted Pyramid under the Louvre in an area called the Carousel de Louvre where you can shop at several different stores and specialty shops. I did a lot of shopping here!!

The Louvre - You enter through the large glass pyramid. We took hundreds of pictures of paintings, sculptures, mummies etc. It was wonderful to see so many things you have only seen in books, internet or TV. I wish I could post more pictures!

Ahhh.....The Mona Lisa....need I say more??!!

The Venus de Milo (the goddess of love) from the Greek Island of Melos. She even has her own room in the Louvre!

We spent half a day at the Chateau de Versailles. We have never seen anything so glorious, formal and sumptuous. We also toured the formal gardens that seemed to go on forever with secret areas in the hedges with fabulous statues and fountains. I would love to post all the pictures from this magnificent palace but would run out of room for sure!!!

This was one of the most incredible ceilings I have ever seen. It took three years to complete. The marble throughout this palace was also very beautiful.

Hall of Mirrors

See the size of this urn? Wow!

Avenue des Champs Elysees is Paris's most famous street. This is a picture from the top of the Arc de Triomphe. There is fabulous shopping on it's grand boulevards! We had a lot of fun here shopping and taking many pictures of the wonderful sights and shops!

The Arc de Triomphe- commissioned by Napoleon to commemorate his armies victories.

Atop the Arc de Triomphe.

Under the Arc

One evening we took a dinner cruise along the Seine. It went from the base of the Eiffel Tower around the two islands past Notre-Dame and the Louvre and back around past the statue of Liberty and back to the tower. We sipped fine French wine and Kir, had Caviar and a fabulous dinner. There was live entertainment with a wonderful singer. We had the greatest time of our lives!

The mini statue of liberty. The Statue of Liberty in New York was presented to the United States by the people of France in 1886.

Caitlynn and Jordan on the dinner cruise.

Yay.....You have no idea how awesome it is to see the Eiffel Tower in person. The first time I saw it I got goosebumps!!!! It is funny when we got into our hotel room we looked out the windows to see if we could see it, and we couldn't. Then I decided to stick my head out a little farther and voila! There it was!!!

The Eiffel Tower from Trocadero Square accross the River Seine.

How beautiful!!!

Livin' the dream baby....livin' the dream!!! :-)

Like my hat?! ha ha ha

It doesn't get any better than this...riding the carousel and looking at the Eiffel Tower!!!! YAHOO!!!

So much fun!!!

Jared, Jordan and Caitlynn at the top of the Eiffel Tower!

John and I at the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Looking up through the tower.

Stopping to take a rest and enjoy the view on my walk down the stairs of the Eiffel Tower!

Here you can see the detail in the iron work as well as the elevator going up!

Looking way up the tower you can see all the lights!

The Eiffel Tower sparkling at night on the hour is a spectacular sight.

Sacre-Coeur (Sacred Heart) basilica Paris's highest point.

The Moulin de la Galette
is one of the only two remaining windmills that remain where there was once 30 of them.

The lapin Agile Caberet-This was a village hotspot where Picasso, Renoir, and others would gather. The poster above the door is of a rabbit leaping out of a pot balancing a bottle of wine.

Posing with a Fiat in the streets of Montmartre.

Carousel in Montmartre.

Jared and me in the hotel lobby...I just liked this picture of us. Bitter sweet as we were tired and had to go home but wish we could stay longer to see more of the city!

Drinking a Perrier (my favourite drink) in Paris!
