This winter has brought the wild into the city looking for food. A Sharp Shinned Hawk visits our front yard and sits in the Magnolia.

One cold February morning I had a visitor on my front porch, an Eastern Screech Owl. He stayed for the day and I was lucky enough to be able to get close and get some awesome pictures!

At first I thought he was trying to get the colony of Sparrow in the vine by our front door. However later I actually saw him kill a mouse and eat it under the vine. I even have some pictures of it, but I won't gross you out with those pics!!!

It was a wonderful experience having this beautiful creature so close to observe. I will never forget it!!!

These next pictures on the piece of driftwood were taken by Lydia Keen a photographer. Her web-site is http://www.lkeenphotography.com/
Lydia is also the photography teacher at Jared's Highschool. Thanks you so much Lydia for taking all these wonderful photos of the flock. Next will be the dogs...I can't wait!!!
